Longstreth is a great online source and can help guide stick selection by phone or email. For a new player, a beginner stick has less carbon, which gives better touch and control when stopping the ball. You trade a little power for control, which is the right call starting out. Aside from goalie, sticks are not position specific, it comes down to player comfort.

35" stick: athlete 5'1" to 5'3"
36 to 36.5" stick: athlete 5'4" to 5'6"
37 to 37.5" stick: athlete 5'7" to 5'9"
The stick should sit well out in front when you play, so a slightly shorter stick can help.

Coach Amy has a limited number to purchase: size 36.5 and size 35 at $40. Size 37.5 at $30, great for taller parents (6 ft or more) who want to play alongside their player.

Field hockey shinguards, a sockguard style works well. Shop a few options at Longstreth or Amazon.

Pinnies, skirts, and socks through the team store. Order these before practices and games begin.
